FancyBanjo sells oldtime vintage banjos and a few modern ones. Every banjo listed has been set up to be fully playable and to sound its best. Fancybanjo is owned by Lloyd Blakley who has been interested in banjos since 1975 when he bought his first banjo, the S. S. Stewart pictured on the fancybanjo home page.

The short movie to the left was taken about 20 years ago while Lloyd was playing his Gibson MB-1 Banjo Mandolin. Dancing to the music is his daughter Rachel.

Lloyd has made instruments and worked on a few banjos since first becoming interested in them. Always wanting to build a banjo, he once made a banjo out of a coconut shell (he has yet to live that one down).

Lloyd is also a practicing professional artist. You can see his work at:Foster/White Gallery.

Lloyd is also an art instructor at Whatcom Community College in Bellingham, Washington.

FancyBanjo no longer uses PayPal or credit cards via PayPal. You can securely purchase banjos from FancyBanjo with a personal check, cashier's check, or money order and be assured that you will receive the highest quality service.

The FancyBanjo Workshop

"I have respect for the vintage character of an instrument.Often, old banjos are not set up to play or sound as good as they could. In these cases, there are a number of adjustments that can be done to improve the instrument. Occasionally, a banjo needs repair, refinishing or a modification such as adding a tone ring."

Thank you for visiting the FancyBanjo web site. All of the vintage instruments offered for sale have been personally played by me and I am confident that you will enjoy them as much as I have.

FancyBanjo is solely owned by Lloyd Blakley, Bellingham, Washington, 360-966-2384.
